My Pet Peeve:  The phrase “the Real world.”

 IE: “You’ll understand when you get to the Real world.” or “You don’t know now, but this will come in handy in the Real world.” 

 

I get it. University life isn’t like wage employment life. But I didn’t spend the last four years in a fishbowl, deaf and blind, swimming 30 second practice rounds while waiting for my life to start. So take your belittling convention and its narrow scope normalcy and cram it. Warren Harding isn’t here, man.
